There are many studies that document the social, educational, and economic benefits of the arts to communities. But how does the American public experience about the function of the arts in their lives? Practice they value arts education and support regime funding of the arts? How of import is creativity at habitation and at work?  We put these questions directly to the public to find out.

"Americans Speak Out most the Arts in 2018" was conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs for Americans for the Arts in May 2018. It is based on a nationally representative sample of 3,023 American adults, making it 1 of the largest public opinion studies about the arts ever conducted.  Equally 1 might expect when hearing from the public, we find a mix of assumptions challenged and observations confirmed.

  9. "Creativity boosts job success." 55 percent of employed adults say their job requires them to "be creative and come up with ideas that are new and unique." An fifty-fifty greater proportion (60 per centum) say that the more artistic and innovative they are at their task, the more than successful they are in the workplace.
  10. " Cultural institutions add value to our community."
